Online communities results
Dear visitor,
I have combined all the results into a word file making it easier for you to filter through the data. The file can be opened in a new window without saving it, so you don’t have to take any risks downloading a file from the Internet. Please download the file from my social network http://socialmediaaddiction.ning.com/forum/topics/online-communities-results
I hope you appreciate this effort and recommend the survey to your friends, as I do rely on word-of-mouth advertising.
If you have not taken the survey yet, the link to take it is http://ww3.unipark.de/uc/online-communities
Thank you for your interest. For feedback and suggestions for improvement on the survey please contact me at …

Ning: The future of online social networking?
Dear visitors,
Ning lets members custom build their own social-networking platforms based around their passions and pastimes. Please read the following article to learn more about Ning.
http://edition.cnn.com/2009/TECH/05/25/ning.social.networking.interest/index.html?eref=rss_tech
I believe it coud be interesting to start a network where everyone is free to administer the site in a sense of commenting in forums, uploading, etc.
For this reason I opened a Ning site on social media: http://socialmediaaddiction.ning.com/ If this sounds interesting to you pls join in.
Greetings,
John Cassidy
Online survey
Hi everybody,
I have completed an online survey on the “Attractiveness of online communities – a user’s perspective”
I am very interested in the findings, which I will share with you publicly over this blog of course!
You can start the survey by clicking here:
http://ww3.unipark.de/uc/online-communities
Have fun filling out the survey,
John Cassidy
How do you use social media sites?
Or: “What can an online community do for you?”
I would like to leave this question as open as it is to brainstorm and gather ideas for creating interesting threads
Twitter account
http://twitter.com/Egwenealvere
You will see straight away that I am a new account on twitter recently as I feel it is an amazing tool which helps connect on the go through mobile devices. I am also trying to form an open themed community interested in social media. This blog in future may be a better platform for ongoing conversations regarding certain questions.
Who I am
Myself in tag format:
married, student, swiss, australian, 28, strategy, marketing, online communities, fantasy, world of warcraft, golf, tennis, jazz, wine
My name John Cassidy – not surprisingly – was occupied already so I ended up choosing Egwene al Vere instead. A character out of “the wheel of time” which my wife and I love reading – in short fantasy literature.
Are Online Communities an addiction?
Hi all,
I am interested in all kinds of online communities and am trying to get to know more about them in an academic approach. To understand more about social technologies I also would like to benefit from all your experiences.
Thanks in advance,
John Cassidy
